About
Dead Self was founded not as just another brand of Christian sub-culture, but as a call to those of us who live and grow in the margins of society. For the skaters, the board-riders, the metal-heads, the good 'ol boys, the thrill-junkies, bikers, and outlaws - this brand is for you.
When I was in middle school, my friends and I started a local skateboarding club which focused on two things - skating and building relationships that opened up doorways for the Gospel. Eventually it outgrew the lady's house we skated at and moved to a local park. Hundreds of local kids would come to skate, listen to music, eat pizza, and hear how Jesus died for them.
I may now be in my 30s, but the outsider spirit never left me and there are Christians everywhere who feel a bit homeless in today's Christian sub-culture. Moreover, there are those on the fringes of society who are just like those local skater kids - lost and going to hell, but without anyone who looks and sounds like them to guide them to the truth. Dead Self was founded to not only be a daily reminder of your crucifixion with Christ, but as a call to invite others to be dead to self and alive to Christ as well.
May our attire remind you of who you are, and bring others into the fold.
UNTIL ALL HAVE HEARD.
